The audio painted a great picture of the community. Brenda uses unique sounds to create the Westside community as a very spontaneous place. In the beginning of the audio the music has a very exciting and innocent feeling to it. This shows Brenda's childlike and carefree nature. As the audio progresses, the music becomes more dramatic and mature. This shows how much Brenda has grown as a person. She lost that childlike and carefree nature as she matured throughout the years. During the ending scene, the music was very serious and dramatic; however, during the scene where Brenda and Kali were talking, the music stops playing. This shows how serious the situation is between them. When painting the picture of some of the characters, Brenda did a great job portraying them. She uses different voices for each character in order for the listener to connect with them. She also uses different accents to portray the characters heritage. For example, Kali has an accent to show he is Hawaiian. The accents also shows how different each character is and how it impacts their life because of it. For example, Brenda doesn't think Kali will be able to graduate because he isn't able to speak "proper english".
